Sporting news: Nearly 6,000 Argentine fans banned from stadiums at Qatar World Cup

Violent fans involved in illegal associations, even those who owe food bills, are part of a list of 6,000 Argentines who will not be allowed into Qatar’s World Cup stadiums, the city government of Buenos Aires said on Monday.

“The violent are here and in Qatar. We want to bring peace to football, while the violent are outside the stadium, ” Marcelo Dallesandro, the city’s justice and security minister said in an interview on a local radio station.

He added: “They are listed for being balas (fans of violence), participating in violent acts, illegal associations such as ‘trapitos’ (no street commerce), and arrears of alimony (from divorced parents).”

Sign a cooperation agreement

For control in Qatar, the official said that, as with the World Cup, delegations from the country’s different police agencies will be sent to work with Qatari security authorities.

In June, the Ministry of State Security signed a cooperation agreement with the Qatari embassy to prevent violent Argentine fans from attending the World Cup.

Of the 6,000 Argentines banned from the stadium, Dallesandro said about 3,000 were ” balabravas ” who were not allowed to play in local leagues.
