Premier League – West Ham 2-0 Bournemouth: Kurt Zouma controversial header and Syed Benrahma penalty move Hammers into top 10

Kurt Zouma ‘s header and Syed Ben Rahma’s late penalty secured West Ham‘s 2-0 win in Monday Night Football Bournemouth into the top half of the Premier League.

David Moyes ‘ side are 17th in the table, but that position doesn’t reflect their performances, with injuries being a key spoiler for their pre-season ambitions.

As West Ham have won three of their previous 11 games due in part to missing staff, penalty errors and VAR pain, they are the beneficiaries of a change in the law until those penalties are resolved.

Penalty kick in the second half

West Ham were awarded a penalty in second-half stoppage time when substitute Jordan Zemula handled Vladimir Kufar’s cross, allowing Benrahma to seal the victory on the spot .

Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neill said after the game: “His hand moved towards the ball and changed the flight of the ball. I’m not surprised because it’s getting more and more ridiculous. We’ve had 10 VAR checks since I took office. , and not once did it our way”

Speaking of Jefferson Lerma’s foul on Aleksandar Mitrovic against Fulham in the Premier League, Gary O’Neill received information that Lerma had hindered Mitrovic without watching the ball. But if you look at Flynn Towns, he’ll block him on Marcos Senesi’s arm while looking at the ball in the exact opposite direction .

Bournemouth dropped to 14th, while the Hammers overtook them to rise to 10th .
