New Zealand international midfielder Ryan Thomas rejoins former club PEC Zwolle from PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer after 4 years..

PEC Zwolle announced on the official website on Wednesday that PSV Eindhoven New Zealand international midfielder Ryan Thomas has joined the club again on a free transfer.     According to Zwolle’s official statement, Thomas signed a one-year short-term contract with the club which will expire next summer, with an option to extend for another year. In addition, since the player registration period for Eerste Divisie has long passed, Thomas must wait until January 1, 2023 to be officially registered in Zwolle’s list of players.   After completing the joining procedures, Thomas, who speak to Zwolle’s official website again many years later, said: “I experienced the best moment of my career with Zwolle. Not only that, I owe this club too much. Moreover, they gave me the opportunity to come to Europe to play professional football about ten years ago and Zwolle is like another home for me and my family. I had a very unforgettable time in Eindhoven, which were full of ups and downs. After these experiences, I feel a lot stronger than ever and I’m really looking forward to the feeling of playing football here again.”   Thomas, 27, was born on December 20, 1994 in Te Puke, New Zealand, to a family of English descent. He has been in the youth training system of many local clubs in New Zealand since he was a child. After he got the opportunity to join the New Zealand Premier League club Waikato in 2011, Thomas gradually started gain his popularity locally.   In the summer of 2013, Thomas was officially signed by PEC Zwolle after going through a trial, and he scored and assisted on his debut for the club in the KNVB Cup in September of the same year. With his good performance, Thomas quickly established himself as the key player in the team, during which he also helped the club win 1 KNVB Cup and 1 Johan Cruyff Shield (Dutch Super Cup) title.   In August 2018, Thomas joined PSV Eindhoven for €3million.   However, Thomas, who suffered intermittent knee, ankle, hamstring and other injuries after joining, has never been able to fully become the main player for the Eredivisie giants, as such he could only play 48 times for the Lampen across all competitions for the past four years, scoring 4 goals and assisting 7 times.   Internationally, Thomas has been part of the New Zealand senior national team since 2014. So far, he has played 19 times in all competitions for the Kiwis, scoring 3 goals and making 1 assist, while also winning 1 OFC Nations Championship title and 1 OFC Footballer of the Year award.   Be sure to stay tuned to us to get to know all the latest updates and news about the hottest football, basketball, gaming and e-sports news at 77577SPORTS.
