The World Cup in Qatar is approaching. Unexpectedly, bad news came from Argentina. The Argentine Football Association announced that Joaquin Correa and Nicolas Gonzalez will miss the World Cup due to injuries.
Gonzalez withdrew from the World Cup with a muscle injury and the FA said in a statement that Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa had been called up to take his place.
Joaquin Correa regretted withdrawing from the World Cup after suffering a knee discomfort after a friendly against the UAE. Joaquin is replaced by Almada, who plays for Atlanta.
The 27-year-old Angel Correa has played 22 games for the national team. However, Almada is only 20 years old this year and has only played one game for Argentina, which was the friendly match with Honduras in September.
Argentina will face Saudi Arabia on November 22 in their World Cup opener in Qatar.
