After Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi, Yuki Kobayashi became the fifth Japanese player to join the Celtics from the J-League.
As head coach of the Celtics, Ange Postecoglou is delighted with the addition of Yuki Kobayashi. He believes Yuki Kobayashi will be an important asset for the Celtics.
“Yuki is a player we’ve had our eye on for a while and now is a great opportunity to bring him in,” Postecoglou told Celtics.com. He then added: “He is a very rare left-footed central defender. He is still very young, but he has three or four years of senior experience. He intends to come to Europe to challenge himself.”
“He’s at a really good age. He’s got a lot of experience and he still has a lot of potential.”
“He’s a good young man who wants to break through in Europe. For us, it’s a great opportunity to invest in young players again.”
For the first time in his career in the European League, Yuki Kobayashi couldn’t hide his excitement. In the conversation, he told the Celtics official website: “I am very happy to join the Celtics. I am really looking forward to this wonderful opportunity. I will go all out to strive for success at the club.”
“Globally, everyone knows Celtic are a club like no other and it will be a real honor to be honored to wear this fantastic kit.”
“Ange Postecoglou had a wonderful time in the J-League, and his coaching performance was once famous in Japan. As a member of the Celtics, I can’t wait to work with him, the players he has developed, and a team. A great team to work with.”
“I know Celtic have had an incredible record of success over the years and at this stage I want to play my part and bring more great moments to the club and the fans.”
