On the last day of the transfer window, Barcelona right-back Dest and Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx joined AC Milan on loan, becoming the defending champion’s last two signings this summer.
AC Milan’s official statement shows that the 21-year-old American winger Serginho Dest has been loaned by Barcelona with a buyout clause in the contract. It is reported that Dest’s buyout fee is around 20 million euros, and the salary during the loan period (3.8 million euros per year) is also borne by Milan. If the player is bought out next season, he can sign with Milan for 4 years.
For the Rossoneri, Dest’s main role in the team is as a substitute for Florenzi, who suffered a muscle injury against Sassuolo and is expected to miss at least two months.
On the day of Dest’s signing, 19-year-old Belgian midfielder Aster Vranckx also joined Milan on loan from Wolfsburg for a season. Many media have different opinions on the cost of Milan’s loan of Vranckx – ranging from 1 million euros to 2 million euros, and its buyout fee is determined to be 12 million euros.
Vranckx’ career started on July 20, 2019, when he represented Mechelen in the final of the Belgian Super Cup as a substitute. The team lost 3-0 to Genk and missed the championship. In July 2021, Vranckx joined Wolfsburg for 8 million euros and played 29 times for the team in one year, scoring two goals.
